Question:
Clause 3.3 of the standard requires that in addition to the required markings on a luminaire, all details which are necessary to ensure proper installation, use and maintenance shall be given on the luminaire or in the manufacturer’s instructions provided with the luminaire. Sub-clause 3.3.9 requires that the manufacturer shall be prepared to supply information on the power factor and supply current. Sub-clause 3.3.13 requires that the manufacturer shall provide the specifications of protective shields. Is it acceptable that markings and/or instructions are referred to manufacturer’s Website?
Decision:
Markings according to clause 3.2 shall be provided as specified in Table 3.1. Details to ensure proper installation and safety related details must be marked on the luminaire or included in the instruction manual provided with the luminaire. For other information, reference to manufacturer’s Website is acceptable.
