Question:
Luminaires which might overheat the lighted objects due to the applied lamp type, the shape of the reflector, the adjustable mounting means, location of mounting etc., shall be provided with the symbol for minimum distance from lighted objects. This distance symbol was required for spotlights and the like. Is it possible to make an unambiguous definition of the kind of luminaires that shall be marked with the distance symbol?
Decision:
In case the temperature of the lighted object at a distance of 10 cm is less than 90°C, the distance symbol is not applicable.
