Paragraph 5 of Clause 1.1 of IEC/EN 60238 states that “As far as it reasonably applies, this standard also covers adapters”. Can the product, schematically shown in the picture below, be regarded as an adapter and certified according to
IEC/EN 60238 and IEC 60061-1?
Decision:
Not acceptable.
