meeting, in Toronto
Question:
Where a motor is arranged physically or in a circuit such that it cannot present a shock,
temperature or fire hazard, is it necessary to perform the tests specified?
Decision:
Tests are only performed where a hazard is likely to arise. Analysis and examination should
be made to determine the hazard and tests performed if needed.
Explanation:
There is no reason to perform tests which do not examine the safety of a device. If
consideration shows no hazard will arise, the tests are not needed. A clear explanation should
be given in the report for a decision not to test.
