Tape
Key words:

-CTI
-insulating tape
-adhesive
Decision confirmed
at CTL 38th meeting
Question:
The measured Comparative Tracking Index (CTI) for an insulating tape with adhesive
present can be different from that for the insulating tape without the adhesive present. The
creepage distances to be applied depend upon the CTI of the insulating material.
Should the presence of adhesive on the insulating tape be considered in determining the CTI
when determining the creepage distances requirements to be applied?
Decision:
Yes.
