Question:
Sub-clauses 10.10.2 c), 10.10.3 a) and 10.10.3 c of Clause 10.10, Apparatus and
Procedure for UV Preconditioning Test, of the following standards are different:
1. Newly published IEC61646-2008 Ed.2 Thin-film terrestrial photovoltaic
(PV) modules – Design qualification and type Approval.
2. Previously published IEC 61215-2005 Ed.2 Crystalline silicon terrestrial
photovoltaic (PV) modules – Design qualification and type approval.
Can the requirements of the sub-clauses in the two standards be harmonized?
Decision:
When conducting UV preconditioning test per clause 10.10 of IEC 61215:2005,
Ed.2, use sub-clauses 10.10.2 c), 10.10.3 a) and 10.10.3 c) of IEC61646:2008,
Ed.2, but keep other sub-clauses on IEC 61215-2005 Ed.2 with no change, as
illustrated below.
