Questions:
1. Does ETF4 agree that the ambient temperature at the switch head (Tmax) and the mounting
surface temperature (Ts max) shall be declared and specified by the component manufacturer
as a temperature rating?
2. Does the ETF4 agree that the declared value Tmax shall be independent of the mounting
temperature (Ts max) of the control?
3. Does ETF4 agree to add a note to clause 2.3.30 in order to clarify that Tmax shall be
independent from Ts max ?
4. Does the ETF4 agree that it is the responsibility of the appliance manufacturer to ensure that
the Tmax and Ts max values declared by the component manufacturer are met when
incorporating the temperature sensing control in the end-user appliances through testing?
5. Does the ETF4 agree that the component manufacturer’s declared Tmax value and the
mounting surface temperature Ts max shall be independently maintained during the heating test
of clause 14?

6. Does the ETF4 agree that the maximum temperature at the control’s connection tabs (Ttab max)
shall only be a function of the declared Tmax temperature and the added heat rise under rated
load measured at the tabs of the controls at steady state, while independently maintaining the
rated Tmax and Ts max during the heating test?
