4.15 – 12.7.1

Question:
Is it always necessary to carry out the test “compliance is checked by inspection and/or the test of a 12.7.1”.
Decision:
No test is required when the design is such that the construction is checked by inspection first indent of sub-clause 4.15 a). One example is when the ballast and the plastic enclosure are fixed to a metal “body”, the plastic enclosure provides protection for ingress of dust, solid objects and moisture only.
