After the prescribed amount of water is deposited through the 8mm tube onto the connector surface, the electrical strength test shall be applied as soon as practical. Immediately following the deposition of the water, metal foil is smoothed over the accessible surface of connector, avoiding contact with any earth connection by means of a hole or gap in the foil. The application of the metal foil is carried out in such a manner, as to minimize any disturbance to water on the surface of the connector.% u! q- L0 N2 i! O4 v& Q6 T1 X. N
The following test voltages are then applied as follows:& A; ?/ K: `* U9 n' L; A5 z
a) 2500V a.c. between live parts and the metal foil over the surface of the connector6 @7 M1 J' ?' l6 N& e" R
