For the purpose of harmonic current limitation, equipment is classified as follows:4 m. L* T( u6 I; A; }/ ?
Class A:
* y1 F* c% g# k2 n7 h– balanced three-phase equipment;
7 _* [$ a7 ^( \2 w– household appliances, excluding equipment identified as class D;
7 |- g4 A/ J8 I0 ?– tools, excluding portable tools;
v6 A0 c" X: j– dimmers for incandescent lamps;
) F, e d$ P/ \4 j– audio equipment.
V, o0 Z* T4 `* t! {2 AEquipment not specified in one of the three other classes shall be considered as class A. _/ K8 b4 Y. U. O; y: u( w6 u
equipment.
0 s! F9 A* B. o( MNOTE 1 Equipment that can be shown to have a significant effect on the supply system may be reclassified in a- b. H: b; @! ^* }, h# o
future edition of the standard. Factors to be taken into account include:
* I9 B, ^4 W: I6 x# T– number of pieces of equipment in use;
+ o: {" v( @2 n+ M: O2 Y' n– duration of use;
+ a. h3 `4 J4 d+ B# J& z4 H– simultaneity of use;
( F& r% c! P6 S1 S' k– power consumption;6 I1 w0 S( K, X* g* `
– harmonic spectrum, including phase.

– portable tools;

Class D:
