Portable luminaires, garden luminaires and lighting chains

Definitions

60598-2-20(ed.3) & 60598-2-4(ed.2) & 60598-2-7(ed.1);am1;am2

Question:
What standards should be used where a lighting chain is permanently fixed or integrated with a frame?
Decision:
For ordinary luminaire (indoor) – IEC 60598-2-4 and IEC 60598-2-20 apply.
Follow part 2-4 for supply cable, cord anchorage and stability.
For product intended for use outdoor – IEC 60598-2-7 and IEC 60598-2-20 apply. Follow part 2-7 for IP classification, supply cable, supply cable entrance, cord anchorage and stability.
