The rated wattage must be marked separately from the type. In addition the rated wattage must be marked separately from the type reference. It has to be noted that the manufacturer must have some freedom with regards to the type reference of a luminaire. Amendment 1 to IEC 60598-1 has reconstructed the marking clause, but also here common sense is applicable. In addition, the marking shall not cause confusion (e.g. IP 68, 30 Lm or 200 V, used as type reference).
