specification lead to ballast / ignitor overheating, are tested additionally under conditions with maximum
- V9 ]* j+ x7 \0 e1 j& rcase temperature brought to (tc + X)°C and with rectifying test circuit in accordance with IEC 60598-1 V  q! g& B$ e8 x4 I1 x

8 U0 P1 c( q4 QIn doing so, if we test ignitors intended to be built-in, without replaceable switching elements, the ignitors. \( |3 l5 X( C1 o% o+ Y
shall be subjected to 30 days continuous operations so that the lamp current is adjusted to maximum (by
$ o; R) N  B7 }( p+ R6 J9 S$ Cvarying the resistor R2), but in any case not higher than three times the normal lamp current. The test# k% i1 x( j; k) V* p
voltage is 1,06 times the rated supply voltage of the ballast. Our experience shows that some ignitors5 @" H" T5 S; h  g+ a: X4 a) X
reach the maximum case temperature at room temperature in this circuit, when they are placed on a/ x: ]) ?6 b+ N1 Q
wood board. Can the test be performed in this arrangement and the type accepted if after the test both7 E0 H) J5 p/ l2 n
ignitors comply with the relevant requirements? If the answer is no, how shall the test be performed?, s* A& g2 t& Z  ^$ {: K. a
2) Is it acceptable that the marking point for tc and (tc + X) would be at different places on the ignitor?
