+ M& B. R) J/ h2 [+ t7 f$ c; uDecision: Yes, provided that:! R7 v @: g6 R0 N& j/ J
- the LED circuit shall be verified according to IEC/EN 61347-2-13 or IEC/EN: c5 a8 \5 x9 }' Z* B1 s: Z7 @
61347-2-11 (*) and the LED shall be tested according to IEC/EN 60825 –1
) g9 {6 |8 z; O- u& H( S" k! L% t' Z(Safety of laser products) (§)-(#), if it has laser radiation in the wavelength
( f. \% v7 h! j" e7 {) Yranging from 180 nm to 1 mm. Only LEDs classified as Class 1 lasers can be6 `* g3 n' G {# y I! J
used without problems for lighting purposes without protection.+ k& J* s, o% S5 P- M; ]8 \
- The thermal tests required in Section 12 of IEC/EN 60598-1 shall be carried

a) Luminaires (Class I or II) with built-in control gear shall be tested Z% t% i/ y7 J% {! I& _1 m+ Y
according to the requirements of IEC/EN 60598-2-6.% a+ F/ a6 J$ L0 U( M
b) For Class III luminaires the manufacturer shall provide the necessary# W/ w; J( w- Q
information to power up the LED circuit correctly in the instruction sheet.
! V. n7 r' i# [# TAlternatively, the manufacturer shall inform Testing Station about the
r; w$ P \* m5 t2 W @5 Atrade mark, the type and the technical characteristics of the appropriate
& H! Z9 t9 K$ N) i! L, v2 }" j' j* fcontrol gear to be used. There are three different control gears namely, the: E* x" a/ y3 v5 A' @, v
type and the trade mark as indicated by the luminaire manufacturer; an5 \4 \! P( Z m) C5 k& X v4 |
electronic control gear clearly specified in the luminaire instruction sheet3 Z$ u0 f H# F0 y. Y r6 q
and a ferromagnetic control gear. The tests shall be carried out as required
$ a6 V# K/ i \3 K0 s! ?in Section 12 according to IEC/EN 60598-2-6 with the appropriate control a4 j6 i! D% Y" }/ x3 V* n
gear.
