Insulated wires shall be equivalent FV-1 or better. Wires are not generally tested and rated according to FV-1. It is not easy to establish equivalence between different test classifications/methods if you are not involved directly in such testing procedures.
8 v8 N# }1 K3 Z1 H+ `8 F" BWires typically are rated VW-1 or FT-1. It is unclear if these flammability ratings are equivalent and thus acceptable (Same problem exists with IEC 60601-1 ed. 3)
Decision:
Wires rated e.g. VW-1 or FT-1 or according to IEC 60332-1-2 are deemed equivalent and can be accepted.
