Question: Is it possible to issue approvals on luminaires provided with LEDs light source?

9 B4 K$ }5 U; c; c: z9 z" I(1) The LED circuit is verified according to IEC/EN 61347-2-2 (*) or IEC/EN
& A+ I; T. n! E, e61347-2-11. If the laser emits radiation in the wavelength range from 180 nm to 1
% l3 C& g1 ^1 M$ \8 D3 q+ G9 W( Rmm, the LED shall also be tested according to IEC/EN 60825 –1 (Safety of laser. T ^+ m' k# T6 w) ]# N
products). Only LEDs classified as Class 1 lasers can be used without problems2 i/ {8 W3 T' y
for lighting purposes without protection.
* Q; U( y% N) m2 N0 W(2) The thermal tests required in Section 12 of IEC/EN 60598-1 are carried out as

" G9 e" C, X+ C3 Ycorrectly or shall inform the Testing Station about the trade mark, the type
: V8 {9 M$ W; d/ iand the technical characteristics of the appropriate control gear. There can
$ o0 F. K, O+ B7 ~be three different control gears: the type and the trade mark indicated by the
- V3 H8 n. _+ \3 d# |luminaire manufacturer; an electronic control gear clearly specified on the
& P( m# D, G+ w4 m1 qluminaire instructions; a ferromagnetic control gear. The tests shall be5 Y& ]8 T2 m2 i( s7 W
carried out as required in Section 12 according to IEC/EN 60598-2-6 with
