10.1 Surge test
0 E2 M- b0 F) _6 p, z, GThe insulation on CLASS II apparatus between ACCESSIBLE parts or parts connected to them and2 K; h$ z P: A8 N" w# V
HAZARDOUS LIVE parts, shall withstand surges due to transients, caused for example by
2 O& M/ J% r& R" \7 h) @' @5 |; I) pthunderstorms and entering the apparatus through the antenna TERMINAL.! I1 m" d. R" r2 I- w( Z3 o6 H- Y
Compliance is checked by the following test:
- Y6 Z0 s& H, t( CThe insulation between4 ]1 T' y3 O! a4 j7 k
– TERMINALS for the connection of antenna and MAINS supply TERMINALS,. g z7 `5 r; t8 ]. r/ `
and between
; y c9 M/ c$ c– MAINS supply TERMINALS and any other TERMINAL in case of apparatus providing supply
( o9 r; Y' n6 t4 N Z- @voltages to other apparatus with antenna TERMINALS,
/ Y8 U2 r: C6 Y# d/ t4 Zis subjected to 50 discharges at a maximum rate of 12/min, from a 1 nF capacitor charged to; l' ]/ |& }( x9 F
10 kV in a test circuit, as shown in Figure 5a.
, E4 |3 P6 }3 U% ~. MNOTE During this test, the apparatus should not be energized.
