The insulation on CLASS II apparatus between ACCESSIBLE parts or parts connected to them and
0 a, M' ^8 q/ _+ t5 z4 _HAZARDOUS LIVE parts, shall withstand surges due to transients, caused for example by
( S1 Q% L* O* _; tthunderstorms and entering the apparatus through the antenna TERMINAL.' L# Y( i8 _! x4 B3 P
Compliance is checked by the following test:
# U7 F: u4 D% V0 g7 `The insulation between. a) h( z' }4 ?6 S K: x
– TERMINALS for the connection of antenna and MAINS supply TERMINALS,
2 \) v. t$ b1 f vand between
. V: z/ j. }) C– MAINS supply TERMINALS and any other TERMINAL in case of apparatus providing supply
" R1 C& x4 m3 ]" w/ a- }voltages to other apparatus with antenna TERMINALS,, V% |$ ?. a1 r( j. i
is subjected to 50 discharges at a maximum rate of 12/min, from a 1 nF capacitor charged to x6 k" R. @1 ?* M9 b
10 kV in a test circuit, as shown in Figure 5a.

After the test, the tested insulation shall comply with the requirements of 10.3.
