7 Marking and instructions, L3 `; H4 c3 k2 {
7.1 Replace the last dashed item in the first paragraph by the following:# [  ~& `/ d! l  ?! O
– symbol IEC 60417-5180 (2003-02), for class III appliances. This marking is not
5 n, J9 c; r$ n3 `5 Jnecessary for appliances operated only by batteries (primary batteries or secondary! w' r, {! N$ N7 j) z- X
batteries recharged outside of the appliance) or appliances powered by rechargeable

– 3,5 mm for appliances normally used on the floor;; K: @' Z8 p5 F9 D3 \9 X4 R- O' m

NOTE A height of 3,5 mm is similar to Arial 14 pt, 3,0 mm is similar to 12 pt Arial and 2,0 mm is similar to 8 pt

Countries that do not use the Latin alphabet need to specify the minimum size of the script to% U  r# t& i6 V8 W* C

0 l* v* P# @5 l2 o' GCompliance is checked by inspection, by measurement and by rubbing the marking by hand
% p7 ~$ p2 b! m& M& F4 ?for 15 s with a piece of cloth soaked with water and again for 15 s with a piece of cloth$ S- W/ y# @6 t4 X4 ]3 b3 f
soaked with petroleum spirit. The petroleum spirit to be used for the test is aliphatic solvent/ [9 B; d$ H8 |4 r
hexane., ~6 E+ o9 F5 G; S) e
8 Protection against access to live parts
( ^! C# J2 q5 ]( S8.1.3 Replace the note by the following.
& `1 ~& I4 m7 u% k+ E6 vIf a single switching action is obtained by a switching device, the switching device shall* h4 a7 A" e2 D. @* e$ b
provide full disconnection and the clearances for full disconnection specified in 20.1.5.3 of
( A( d7 C0 H: w! c% _IEC 61058-1:2000 shall be obtained from Table 22 of IEC 61058-1:2000 using the next higher

For appliances provided with a supply cord and without a switching device in their supply

Compliance is checked by inspection and by manual test.
$ @$ d# g7 A; S13 Leakage current and electric strength at operating temperature
" ]% Z" w% D$ ~5 f13.2 Replace the first paragraph by the following:- t1 e# D% \* V! T4 ]$ h
The leakage current is measured by means of the circuit described in Figure 4 of1 @2 |9 _/ L4 V% I7 K/ y
IEC 60990:1999. For class 0I appliances and class I appliances, except parts of class II
) J/ P6 J0 l/ N4 X, U9 @3 sconstruction, C may be replaced by a low impedance ammeter responding to the rated
% i# e# h. F0 m! d( c- b: x+ g& ufrequency of the appliance.
$ x2 b" X$ L3 G* Q! @0 H19 Abnormal operation
; T3 Y, z9 x4 S9 R" `0 D5 C19.1 Add the following to the penultimate paragraph of the test specification:
0 v1 u% w+ f7 @) w- F4 u, OIf the control performs more than one function, only that aspect of the control under" d, G- y  p$ M
consideration is rendered inoperative. Other functions of the control may continue to operate
0 |* Y* `" J4 p% i2 gnormally.
, t5 E6 ~0 r; ^6 @) ~: i( H0 D" M19.7 In the third paragraph of the test specification, replace “class P2” by “class S2 or S3”.
1 W7 k( K+ n- A; Q7 O19.11.3 Replace the text of the test specification but not the note, by the following.
$ V- O! a4 Z( V$ |8 g& E; oIf the appliance incorporates a protective electronic circuit that operates to ensure
+ F. e1 @: o! m9 H: }( I- t$ R! Ucompliance with Clause 19, the appliance is tested as follows:
% K: m/ V* X- `  R8 }A fault as indicated in a) to g) of 19.11.2 shall be incorporated in the protective electronic/ F3 }3 t/ h) h, V( I, v8 h" w
circuit either before the appliance is started or at any point in time after the appliance is
7 T+ q; C5 q4 o  t. h/ I% ustarted so that the most unfavourable conditions of the test are applied.
* t) I3 I& @. I& n, e. ]If the appliance is able to operate after the fault in the protective electronic circuit is& @) h* A3 |! J9 I' O2 d4 V4 a
incorporated, then the appliance is further tested as follows.. O$ c5 l) [0 B$ t6 {
For appliances for continuous operation the appliance is operated until steady conditions are. u0 O4 k  K/ r0 G+ N9 h
reached. Then the relevant test of Clause 19 is repeated.
% D) u8 D6 v+ _6 c( EOther appliances are operated for one cycle of operation. Then the relevant test of Clause 19
4 K7 Y' h5 t& D/ L7 N" Ois repeated.3 l6 p0 f8 ~6 Y/ n6 j# X% y7 c
19.11.4.2 Replace the test specification but not the note, by the following:
. r7 N+ u  e! B3 e& yThe appliance is subjected to radiated fields in accordance with IEC 61000-4-3.% r5 I! d2 k- N  P- p, v+ y2 b4 n
The frequency ranges tested shall be:
8 |: y) e) O5 K  e  \4 }& Q% u" d9 O( A/ f4 i– 80 MHz to 1 000 MHz, test level 3;  H. Z& f* V% C3 Y
– 1,4 GHz to 2,0 GHz, test level 3;
" ?3 }: I2 f9 T( W& P2 H– 2,0 GHz to 2,7 GHz, test level 2.
