The Green Dot is a system for the collection and recycling of sales packaging used for retail products sold in Germany, Spain, Greece, Portugal, Ireland, Italy and France. A company involved in the manufacture, distribution or retail of consumer goods for the German and French market must be part of the German "Green Dot". In the case of games, most Green Dot organizations hold that a board game box or any similar case (durable CD cases, carrying case for a camera, travel game set) that is used to store the parts of a product throughout its useful life is not packaging. Duales System Deutschland (DSD), however, considers these cases to be long-life packaging and assesses fees at a rate of 30% of the normal fees |
