included in the test circuit.

& n+ S# ?7 O7 t40.5.1 A single module or panel is to be used to provide the material for the ignition attempt. However,7 ^ T- m- ?1 K$ I
all power in the arc is to be provided by an external power supply as described in 40.5.2 connected in! ]( D/ t0 G; s% t, X& y9 t
series with only passive portions of the module’s circuit. Cells are to be jumpered if necessary to involve" ~; J* Q* N2 `8 `: m c7 z4 B
specific portions of the module or panel insulation system.

40.6 All methods

40.6.2 Any connection(s) within the module or panel may be broken (fractured). The breaks are to be! F( E i0 L# T
chosen to achieve a worst case condition of maximum open-circuit voltage and/or maximum short-circuit1 m3 M) R0 w3 N$ a+ A
current at one of the chosen break points.$ h# F& L# y: U
Exception: Any electrical connection made with wire of circular cross section or flexible braided0 i* l1 ~* }6 N9 S
construction that is mechanically secured to its connection points is not to be broken. Braided or stranded
' s- k v: Z: n/ I* ?4 Q* L9 V c! p7 Owire shall not have any process performed on it that reduces its flexibility. Solder coating of a portion of
