1 Scope

accordance with the National Electrical Code.

further appropriate examination and tests in accordance with the applicable requirements for electric

1.5 For the purpose of these requirements, cooking equipment includes ranges, ovens, surface/ }1 S0 a9 N. V! s" t; l
assemblies, or combinations thereof. A range is considered to be a combination of a surface assembly

for mounting in or on a wall or other vertical surface of a building or cabinet. Counter-mounted cooking% f# M8 P: K5 ~3 C; p
equipment is considered to be those appliances intended for mounting in or on a counter or other- S4 T8 H3 |+ J% M

1.6 In the following text, a requirement that applies only to one, two, or three of the classes of equipment

or combinations thereof – are so identified. In the absence of such specific reference, or if the term
; J1 B" q' e& v- ?appliance is employed, it is to be understood that the requirement applies to all of these classes of

or injury to persons shall be evaluated using appropriate additional component and end-product
