8.22 Test specifications of non-separable thin sheet material

Three test samples, each individual sample consisting of three or more layers of non-separable8 o8 u9 E& K2 M5 R. [
thin sheet material forming REINFORCED INSULATION, are used. One sample at a time is fixed to- t% z" N7 ~8 J! R# c* ?, p- c
the mandrel of the test fixture (Figure 14) as shown in Figure 15.

After this preconditioning, a sheet of metal foil, 0,035 mm ± 0,005 mm thick, at least 200 mm5 R0 `: H. t) y
long, is placed along the surface of the sample, hanging down on each side of the mandrel
1 t- i6 z( o& C6 u4 p/ k3 A(see Figure 16). The surface of the foil in contact with the sample shall be conductive, not
$ Z' |6 Q( H- N2 ioxidised or otherwise insulated. The foil is positioned so that its edges are not less than 18 mm
1 ]- ^. p; o# d7 A9 M- w6 zfrom the edges of the sample (see Figure 17). The foil is then tightened by two equal weights,: n+ p+ R4 ?8 ~1 G. A& f7 x; t
one at each end, using appropriate clamping devices.2 Q) O( n, o' F2 x
While the mandrel is in its final position, and within the 60 s following the final positioning, a$ ?7 I# _# y; Z( \0 m& n0 a8 N: L
dielectric strength test is applied between the mandrel and the metal foil in accordance with, N' |. j, d4 X% O
10.3.2, using a test voltage of 1,5 times the value specified in Table 5 for REINFORCED1 N5 N8 ?& l5 b4 F1 C

The entire test procedure is repeated on the other two samples.
