Major changes: Following are the major Chinese national differences from IEC 60950-1 2nd Ed found in the China GB 4943.1 standard.

1). 1.4.5 - Tolerances on supply voltage: Tolerances are + 10% and - 10% instead of + 6% and - 10% as given in IEC60950-1. The China mains voltage is 220 V. Therefore, the test voltages under consideration are 198 to 242 V.9 U6 i5 t/ \: R0 o* o& e
& E! [) r! f5 `; q, y9 C& g
This will not have an impact if a product is marked with an input voltage range such as 200-240 V (servers are marked like this). This will have an impact a product is marked with a single input voltage such as 230 V or 115/230 V (desk top units are marked 115/230 V). In this case the heating test of 4.5 of IEC 60950-1 may need to be repeated at 198 V./ U/ r, M8 x8 Z! \6 }

2). 1.7.1 - Marking of input rating: 220 V, 50 Hz for single phase; and 380 V, 50 Hz for 3-phase3 J9 I3 g7 \1 I$ n' _2 u; @

; u) }, j' t3 \4 R& _6 l: ?) B- N4). Altitude and clearances: For China, the clearances ( through air electrical spacings ) must be suitable for 5000 m. Dell currently designs equipment for 3048 m ( 10,000 feet ). Therefore, (unless clearances for 5000 m are used) the following symbol and instructions must be provided. All Dell equipment with CCC marking is impacted unless we redesign the equipment for 5000 m.; O4 G: y8 Q% n+ e7 T' W
