2.10.4.2 Material group and comparative tracking index
% p1 [3 b/ L; h/ }& I4 a5 GMaterial groups depend on the comparative tracking index (CTI) and are classified as follows:
1 U; H- Z! t7 O2 R, SMaterial Group I CTI ³ 600! ?' v# e2 t+ D) \5 C
Material Group II 400 £ CTI < 600: d; x c4 S' G; K
Material Group IIIa 175 £ CTI < 400: O5 |: J9 h. _2 h. ^. _
Material Group IIIb 100 £ CTI < 175
& R$ M* |6 [2 G8 yThe material group is verified by evaluation of the test data for the material according to IEC
8 W' Q1 `6 I3 ?& ~; J w60112 using 50 drops of solution A.
% ^( Y. R# _: o* Y) n2 w: lIf the material group is not known, Material Group IIIb shall be assumed.

established with a test for proof tracking index (PTI) as detailed in IEC 60112. A material may
